As reported on their website, the Widener University Art Gallery is holding an exhibit from April 10 to May 12. The main focus is on families from Philadelphia who were affected when the Titanic went down. We are often informed of the horrific ordeal that the passengers and crew went through, but we seldom hear of the dogs on the Titanic and what happened to them that fateful day. This exhibit includes information that was found regarding pets.
There were approximately 12 dogs, only three of which survived – two Pomeranians and one Pekingese, all from first class. There is also information about some that perished.
For more details, go to the Widener website.
