If you are interested in owning pet rabbits, there are a few things you will need to know about owning rabbits as pets. They have a life span of approximately 10 years and, if they are kept indoors, tend to live longer than those living outdoors. They are a popular pet and can live a full and healthy life if they are well taken care of and eat a healthy diet.
Housing
When keeping rabbits as pets, it is necessary to choose a cage or a rabbit hutch that is large enough for your rabbit to move around and stretch. If it is a wire cage, cover the bottom with something solid like cardboard to protect their feet. The cage should be easy to clean, so keep that in mind when you’re setting up the home. Rabbits can get lonely so place the cage in a quiet, draft-free area where family members can be seen.
